2003 – Singer Green Daya, Billie Joe Armstrongwas arrested on suspicion of DUI after police pulled him over in California for speeding in a black BMW convertible. He failed a breathalyzer test and was taken to the Berkeley jail, later released on $1,053 bail.
2024 – It has been reported that female acts have had a record year in 2023 on the UK Singles Chart, spending the most weeks at number one since records began in 1952. For 31 of the 52 weeks, female artists dominated the chart either as solo artists or in collaborations with other musicians. Miley Cyrus she had the biggest hit of the year, with “Flowers,” a breakup anthem, that attracted 198 million streams.
