Feral Interactive is a studio specializing in porting console and PC games to Apple platforms. For some time now, the company has been gradually porting the next installments of the popular Total War series to iOS and iPadOS. It was recently announced that the next one, Total War: Empire, will hit the App Store this year.
Total War is a popular series of strategy games, most of which allow players to take on the role of leaders of historical powers. The core of the gameplay is real-time battles, but in between battles we can also deal with diplomacy and state management. Total War: Empire, originally released in 2009, takes place in the eighteenth century, offering players the opportunity to take part in a global conflict, including land and sea battles. The game features several playable factions from that period, including the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, the British Empire, the Kingdom of Sweden, the Austrian Empire, and the United States. The iOS and iPadOS version will feature a new control system and a user interface adapted to touch screens, as well as a number of minor improvements.
Total War: Empire for iOS is set to debut on the App Store this fall, although the exact date has not yet been revealed. It will likely be a paid premium title.
