Toyota Indonesia Product Line Ready for Bioethanol Consumption

DAPURPACUID – The 2024 Gaikindo Jakarta Auto Week (GJAW) exhibition is a momentum for Toyota to display its entire line of electrified vehicles, which are currently being marketed.

The technology embedded in the model line includes Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV), Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV), Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) and Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle (FCEV).

This also includes displaying Flexy Fuel Vehicle (FFV) products that are capable of using renewable alternative energy, one of which is the Kijang Innova Zenix HEV FFV.

The technology embedded in PT Toyota Astra Motor’s flagship MPV combines hybrid technology with the use of New Renewable Energy (EBT) which accelerates emission reduction through various means.

Apart from the Hybrid, the Fortuner FFV is also available to expand the choice of internal combustion engine (ICE) models which can use ethanol as an effort to reduce fossil fuel consumption.

Vice President Director of PT TMMIN, Bob Azam, said that ethanol is a future fuel that can build a positive cycle, which aims to create economic balance and environmental sustainability.

“With the increase in the use of bioethanol, we use plants that have been processed by farmers in Indonesia,” said Bob, in his written statement, Friday (22/11).

“Not only does it help economic growth, but it also contributes to the welfare of Indonesian farmers through the positive cycle that is formed,” he added.

One strategy for optimizing NRE potential in Indonesia is through the bioethanol program initiative, which is produced from sugar cane, sorghum, corn, cassava and so on, depending on the availability of resources in the local country.

So it will not only reduce emissions, but increasing the use of these plants will help improve the welfare of Indonesian farmers.

Vice President Director of TAM, Henry Tanoto said, all Toyota cars have been designed to use Bioethanol fuel up to a certain level (E10).

“So customers don’t need to hesitate to use alternative fuel which opens up opportunities to reduce emissions in various ways, through the production of ethanol as a renewable fuel,” he said. (dpid/TH)
