Traffic jam in Lamia, tolls opened – different

The return of the three-day excursions on October 28 is in full swing. Queues of kilometers on the Athens – Lamia National Road, increased traffic on the Athens – Corinth National Road.

The return of the October 28 excursions from the region to Attica is at its peak, with the traffic being especially high on the entrance to the Athens-Corinth National Highway.

In particular, vehicles move at low speeds from the height of Ancient Corinth to Megara.

Many hours of inconvenience awaited the drivers in Athens – Lamia earlier, due to the works that are progressing on the National Highway at the 198th kilometer of bridge reconstruction. At that point, PATHE has been made one-way, with the consequence that cars move in one traffic stream in both directions.

A huge volume of cars that had covered all the traffic lanes had formed a queue that exceeded 10 kilometers, moving at a steady pace, while the only relief is the diversion of traffic from the side streets.

And there things are difficult due to the volume of vehicles that will have to move in one traffic lane for 20 kilometers from Lamia to the junction of Molos.

It is characteristic that even after the 208th kilometer of PATHE at the height of Anthilis, the drivers remain stranded following the current towards Athens. In fact, many of them complain that they were not informed at the Mavromantila toll booth that there was a problem, they were not informed before they reached the Anthilis interchange and it took them more than 3 hours to cover the 10 kilometers at a steady pace!

It is typical that until 3 in the afternoon there was no serious problem on the National Road, however from then on the traffic increased from the E65, from Karpenisi, but also from the National Road in the direction of Athens, with the consequence that at this moment the cars they are almost stationary!
