On 21.07.2024, the prosecutors of the Directorate for the Investigation of Organized Crime and Terrorism – Cluj Territorial Service ordered the detention for a period of 24 hours of a defendant, investigated under the aspect of committing high-risk drug trafficking and carrying out, without right, operations with products likely to have psychoactive effects, both in continuous form. From the criminal investigation documents carried out, it emerged that he procured and possessed for the purpose of selling ecstasy tablets, doses of LSD and various amounts of amphetamine (high-risk drugs) as well as the psychoactive substance 2-MMC, being caught red-handed by the traffic police in time who was traveling (as a passenger in a car) to a locality in Cluj county where a music festival was taking place”, reports DIICOT.
Following a search, approximately 40 grams of psychoactive substance (2-MMC), several grinders, two precision scales, over a hundred ziplock envelopes, objects bearing traces of the substance, as well as other evidence were found at the man’s home .
On Monday, the judge of rights and freedoms of the Cluj Court was notified with the proposal of preventive arrest of the defendant, for a period of 30 days.
The judicial activities were carried out together with the policemen of the Cluj Napoca Organized Crime Brigade.
The action benefited from the support of the policemen from the Alba Iulia Organized Crime Brigade, the Road Service of the Cluj County Police Inspectorate, the Cluj Regional Transport Police Department and the gendarmes from the Cluj Gendarmerie Mobile Group.
