Trains delayed in England after a turtle crawled onto the tracks

A turtle has caused train delays in England after it crawled onto the tracks between Ascot and Bagshot. The turtle managed to escape from the house and onto the tracks, causing delays for commuters.

More delays were reported between Ascot and Bagshot later in the evening after a global computer outage caused chaos for many trying to travel on UK trains.

South Western Railway told Sky News that a train driver spotted the culprit – a tortoise named Solomon – on the track near Ascot station just after 6pm.

A short train ride

The turtle was moving “in step,” they jokingly added.

Solomon was pulled from the tracks and station staff moved him to a safe area on the platform at Ascot, which involved a short train ride.

Those present planned to take the turtle to a vet, but in the meantime the owner identified Solomon and took him away.

Meanwhile, Network Rail Wessex apologized for the delays and suggested that Solomon was able to get on the tracks because of a breach in a fence.
