He will bring forward Albion Rrahmani from Rapid Bucharest to Letná for a record transfer fee in the history of the Czech top competition. Rival Slavia was also interested in the 23-year-old gunner. Romanian journalist Emanuel Rosu confirmed the information about the upcoming transfer to tn.cz.
According to the Romanian website sport.ro, Sparta will pay more than 5 million euros for Rrahmani, breaking David Zima’s transfer record. He came to Slavia Praha from Turin in Italy for 4 million euros in January. In addition to the high sum, Rapid Bucharest will also receive 15 percent of the subsequent transfer of the Kosovo representative.
According to journalist Rosa, Rrahmani should have already said goodbye to his club teammates and will not even play in the league derby against Dinamo Bucharest on Sunday. His transfer to Prague should be finalized in the next few days.
In Sparta, he will meet his former teammate from Rapid and his compatriot Ermal Kraniqi. Rrahmani scored 17 goals in 25 games in the Romanian league last season. In the past, he also played for FC Ballkani in the group stage of the European Conference League.
Rival Slavia Prague was also interested in Rrahmani, but there was no change in jersey. His departure to Glasgow Rangers was also in play, but the battle for a capable finisher was finally won by the club from Letná.
