Transferring your number to Play – everything you need to know

Yesterday we published the first part of our series of lists of mobile offers for people porting their numbers to other operators. We started with Orange, now it’s time to find out how Play tempts such customers.

You can read the list and the entire genesis of the series in yesterday’s entry – Transferring the number to Orange. To summarize it briefly, December is the most popular month of the year for Poles to change their operator. This is probably because it is one of our New Year’s resolutions.

As for the offers themselves, Orange is aware that this month most customers decide to change the operator and has prepared a promotion in almost every offer for those transferring numbers from competitors – in subscription, in the pre-paid offer in the main brand and in Orange Flex sub-brands and Nju Mobile.

What does it look like for the second largest operator in Poland in terms of the number of SIM cards?

Transferring your number to Play

Play – mobile subscription

Currently, Play does not have any special offer for those transferring a number from another operator – it can be seen that Play is implementing these issues as planned, after all, throughout the year it was the leader in the balance of ported numbers in UKE reports.

The offer when transferring the number is the same as that for new customers. We have five tariff plans to choose from with unlimited calls and SMS/MMS messages as well as data transfer limits:

  • 6 GB for PLN 40 per month,
  • 50 GB for PLN 60 per month,
  • 150 GB for PLN 70 per month,
  • no data and speed limits for the first year, then 300 GB for PLN 90 per month,
  • no data and speed limits on the smartphone and 300 GB on an additional SIM card for the router for PLN 105 per month.

The difference only becomes when we decide to transfer a larger number of numbers, because, for example, in Plan L the second, third and fourth number costs PLN 40 less, but in the case of transferring these numbers the discount increases to PLN 45, and we do not pay for the fifth number throughout the entire contract (PLN 5 for a new issue).

Play on a card

In Play prepaid, there is also no dedicated offer for people transferring their number. We have standard packages for all customers, with five options to choose from, just like in the subscription, with full no limit for calls and SMS/MMS messages and with a data transfer limit:

  • 30 GB for PLN 30 per month,
  • 40 GB (+2880 GB for the first year) for PLN 35 per month,
  • 50 GB (+3600 GB for the first year) for PLN 40 per month,
  • 60 GB (+6120 GB for the first year) for PLN 45 per month,
  • 200 GB (+8,400 GB for the first year) for PLN 50 per month.

What’s in sub-brands? Play has two sub-brands – Fakt Mobile and Virgin Mobile. Fakt Mobile is a pre-paid offer, there is no promotion for those transferring their number. In the standard offer, we can use, among others, the option without a package, then we pay a maximum of PLN 15 per month, and after exceeding this amount, we benefit from unlimited calls and SMS messages until the end of the month. In turn, if we need data transfer, we can buy a package for PLN 25, where we have a full limit on calls and SMS/MMS messages and 10 GB of data transfer.

However, in Virgin Mobile there is one, barely noticeable promotion for those transferring the number – in the mobile subscription, where in the plan for PLN 30 a month with a limit of 80 GB of data transfer, for PLN 35 with a limit of 120 GB and in the plan for PLN 40 with a limit of 150 GB – the first we have a month for PLN 0.
