DAPURPACUID – Testing the Hyundai Ioniq 5 at the ‘IONIQ 5 ASEAN Tour’ event in mid-November 2023, successfully resulted in an award from the Indonesian World Record Museum (MURI).
Hyundai Motor Asia Pacific HQ achieved a MURI record for the category ‘Indonesian Assembled Electric Car that Covers the Longest Drive throughout Southeast Asia’.
The award-winning model assembled by Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Indonesia covered a distance of 5,647 km, from Singapore to Vietnam and back, crossing several ASEAN countries along the way.
Head of Marketing & PR Hyundai Motor Asia Pacific HQ, Sangwook Lee, appreciated the MURI award received as a form of commitment to transforming the mobility landscape sustainably.
“This award can increase confidence in the durability, capability and reliability of our electric vehicles for long-distance travel,” he said in an official broadcast, Thursday (8/8).
Lee said that the Ioniq 5 has shown itself as a pioneer in Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) technology, an innovative feature that makes electric vehicles a versatile energy hub.
“Which allows users to utilize their electrical power for various needs that support a more productive and unhindered lifestyle,” he said.
On the other hand, Vice Director of MURI, Osmar Semesta Susilo explained, this award was given as the first Indonesian-assembled electric car, Hyundai, to travel the longest in Southeast Asia.
According to Osmar, this MURI record achievement shows Indonesia’s ability, especially Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Indonesia, in producing reliable electric cars.
“Congratulations to Hyundai and we hope to see more innovations in the future,” concluded Osmar at the handover event at Hyundai City Store, Lotte Shopping Avenue. (dpid/TH)
