Triglav National Park: what to see

A third of the latter – the Loška Koritnica wall, the Trenta, Bavšica, Soča, Lepena, Zapoden and Zadnjica valleys – extends into the territory of Bovec, a small municipality located in the north-western region of the country, a few kilometers from Italian border. It also includes most of the Eastern Julian Alps.

It extends over an area of ​​880 km² and is home not only to the mountains just mentioned, but also forests, karst springs, underground waters and glacial lakes. As for flora, you might come across the Triglav crepis, the Julian Alps poppy and the aconico, belonging to the family of Ranunculaceae. Among the animal species present here, the golden eagles, the mountain francolin and the white-headed hawk stand out. But also the brown bear, chamois, lynxes, Alpine marmots and ibex, roe deer, deer, foxes.

What to see in Triglav National Park
