“This is a transfer that is beneficial for all parties – for Spartak from the financial side, Zaragoza has acquired a quality stopper and the player will move to a better league with the prospect that he could play in La Liga if promoted,” the club boss told the club’s website Peter Macho.
“We see this transfer as a joint project, if Sebastian does well in Zaragoza, the Spanish club will benefit from his performance and Spartak will receive additional funds from his successful operation.
We also had two other offers from other clubs, but we decided on this path, in which we see great potential for the player and our club.”
According to him, Zaragoza preferred the engagement of Koša over reaching for an older stopper.
“The coach of Zaragoza is the former coordinator of the youth academy of Real Madrid, Victór Fernández. The Spaniards know everything about Seb, they also have our youth categories figured out, they know well who they have chosen.
I think that the Spanish style of football will suit him, moreover, the club has the ambition to return to the top competition, and this is a big challenge for the footballer.”
Kóša himself commented on his departure for a new challenge after playing more than a hundred matches for the A-team of Trnava on the club’s website.
“It’s the right time to close this beautiful chapter for now. I felt at home here from the beginning, I’ll never forget it. It’s hard for me to find the words, it’s been a beautiful 4.5 year ride.
I believe that you will remember me well. At 16, I left home for a big football city.
Thank you to everyone who supported me in difficult moments, for example when I wasn’t performing at my best in the beginning.
I believe that this is not our last meeting and I will still wear the red and black jersey,” added Kóša.
