Trump, in a written statement shared on his social media platform Truth Social, stated that he would not accept a third encounter with the Democratic Party leadership after his debate with Harris on September 10, which was broadcast live on ABC News.
“When a boxer loses a fight, the first words out of his mouth are ‘I want a rematch,'” Trump said. “The polls clearly show that I won the debate on Tuesday night against the radical left Democratic candidate, Comrade Kamala Harris, and she immediately called for a second debate.”
Trump accused US President Joe Biden and Vice President Harris of allowing “millions of criminals and mentally ill people to flood into the United States.”
Holding the Democratic administration responsible for the “bankruptcy of the middle class” as a result of the failure to prevent inflation in the country, Trump emphasized that these issues were brought up and discussed in detail in his first debate with Biden and in his second debate with Harris.
Reminding that his opponent Harris did not participate in the Fox News debate program and refused to appear on NBC and CBS channels, Trump continued his statement by saying, “Kamala should focus on what she needed to do in the last four years. There will be no third debate.”
Harris’ campaign team quickly informed Trump’s campaign team after Tuesday’s match that they wanted another live debate.
Harris and Trump’s first live debate
As the countdown continues for the presidential elections to be held on November 5 in the US, Harris and Trump competed in a live debate program broadcast on ABC News yesterday that lasted approximately 1.5 hours.
In their first debate, the parties put forward their views on many topics, from domestic policy to economy, from border security to foreign policy.
