Donald Trump has decided to avoid participating in televised debates with other Republican rivals who are also aiming to win the nomination for the presidency of the United States. On his social network, Truth Social, he announced that he would not participate in the debates.
The seventy-seven-year-old politician, who once stood at the head of the USA, announced this fact on the social network Truth Social, as states also the BBC News server. The American ex-president, who is now facing four charges, justified his decision by the fact that the public knows him and how “successful” his presidency was. “That’s why I won’t participate in the debates,” he said.

So far, Donald Trump is the unmistakable favorite among Republicans to win the nomination. A new CBS poll on Sunday found that 62 percent of Republican voters would support him. His most significant competitor remains Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who is supported by 16 percent of Republicans.
Trump refused to debate at the Reagan Library, where the second debate is scheduled to take place. He has complained privately that he was never invited to speak there, and he blames it in part on former Washington Post CEO Fred Ryan, now the chairman of the board.
Wednesday’s primary debate is the first of the entire primary. Trump had been hesitant to attend for several weeks, but with his lead in the polls, he opted to interview former Fox News host Tucker Carlson instead of participating in the debate.
