Republican Donald Trump defeated Democratic candidate Kamala Harris in the federal state of Nevada, where he won six electoral votes, the AP agency announced.
Trump now has a total of 301 electoral votes to Harris’ 226, and has won six of the seven swing states so far. All that remains is to count the votes in Arizona.
He won 50.7 percent of the votes in Nevada, and Kamala Harris 47.4 percent, states the American portal Politiko, adding that this is the first victory of a presidential candidate from the Republican Party in Nevada since 2004.
The AP agency states that it declared Trump the winner in Nevada based on the conclusion that there is no possibility that the still-uncounted votes in that state will nullify his 46,000-vote advantage over Harris.
Trump secured a second term on Wednesday when his victory in Wisconsin gave him more than the 270 electoral votes needed to win, so the six votes from Nevada only made the win more convincing, it added.
