Newly elected US President Donald Trump could attend the launch of the SpaceX rocket in Texas today, which is another sign of his close ties with the company’s founder, Elon Musk, reports Reuters.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) yesterday issued “temporary VIP flight restrictions” over Brownsville, Texas, a practice that usually precedes important visits.

At the same time, flight restrictions over Trump’s Palm Beach, Florida estate, Mar-a-Lago, will be temporarily lifted.

The launch will be the sixth test flight of SpaceX’s Starship rocket system, which is the focus of Musk’s plans to send humans to Mars.

NASA plans to use “Starship” to send people to the moon as part of its Artemis program.
