Newly elected US President Donald Trump upset part of the public yesterday with a new name that will be part of his administration from January next year.
He announced that he would appoint a notorious anti-vaccine fighter to the position of Minister of Health and Social Affairs Robert F. Kennedy younger, the son of the former Minister of Justice Robert Kennedy and nephew of the President John Kennedy.
Kennedy, who for years has been known primarily for spreading conspiracy theories in the field of health care, especially vaccines, is Trump’s already accepted the offer yesterday. He promised to eradicate it from the area “corruption,” And he put it on the Americans’ heart that he would provide “transparency,” on the basis of which they will be able to make their own decisions regarding health issues. Trump also announced on Thursday that he will appoint his former lawyer and ex-congressman from Georgia to the position of Secretary of Veterans Affairs Douga Collinsawhich he often championed on Fox News during the campaign.
He plans to appoint the governor of North Dakota to the position of Secretary of the Interior Douga Burgumawho ran for the Republican presidential nomination at the beginning of the year, but later expressed his support for Trump.
Burgum made his fortune selling his computer software company and did not hold extreme views during the presidential campaign. In his position, he will oversee federal public lands such as national parks and issue new permits for oil and gas extraction.
The U.S. Department of the Interior is not charged with policing, but it does have some jurisdiction over indigenous tribes. Burgum will replace in the position Deb Haalandwho is the first indigenous woman in this position, or in the position of minister of the US federal government in general.
