Elon Musk, the richest man in the world, a supporter of Donald Trump’s election campaign, participated in the telephone conversation, on Wednesday, between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Donald Trump, after the latter’s victory in the US presidential elections, he said on Friday to AFP an official from the Ukrainian presidency.

“I can confirm this,” indicated this official, on the condition of anonymity, when asked about an information that appeared in the American publication Axios.

Another high-ranking Ukrainian source told AFP that Donald Trump “passed the phone” to Elon Musk, who had a “brief” conversation with Zelenskiy.

Trump gave him the phone, they were apparently there together. The Ukrainian president thanked him for Starlinks (satellite link systems provided by Elon Musk to Ukraine), this source indicated.

“They talked a little bit. But the main conversation was, of course, with Trump,” the quoted source added.

Also according to that source, Donald Trump and Volodymyr Zelensky “didn’t really discuss anything substantial, it was a conversation to say hello.”

The Ukrainian president qualified this conversation as “excellent”.

Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk played an unprecedented role in Donald Trump’s campaign, spending more than $110 million of his fortune to get him elected.

He also held a series of campaign rallies in favor of the Republican candidacy in the hotly contested state of Pennsylvania.

The billionaire is expected to join the incoming administration of Donald Trump, but the precise outlines of his role have not been revealed.

Highly critical of the billions of dollars unlocked for Ukraine, Trump promised to resolve this conflict even before taking the oath of office, without ever explaining how.
