The newly elected President of the United States of America, Donald Trump, said today that the car attack on a crowd of people in New Orleans, in which at least 10 people died, was an “act of pure evil”.
“Our hearts go out to all the innocent victims and their loved ones, including the brave New Orleans police officers. The Trump administration will fully support the city of New Orleans as they investigate and recover from this act of pure evil,” Trump wrote on Platform X.
He added in the message that the crime rate in America “is at a level that no one has seen before”.
“When I say that the criminals coming in are worse than the criminals we have in our country, that statement was constantly refuted by the Democrats and fake media, but it turned out to be true. “The crime rate in our country is at a level that no one has ever seen,” Trump wrote.
At least 10 people were killed and 30 injured today after a car plowed into a crowd of people on Bourbon Street in New Orleans.
An official of the federal police authorities said at a press conference today that the suspect is probably dead, while the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) announced that they found an explosive device after the attack.
As reported, the person who ran over people en masse in New Orleans shot at the police, and the identity of the suspect and the potential motive for the attack are not yet clear.
The FBI said that, when it comes to this incident, the term “terrorism” is not yet used, although the mayor of New Orleans, LaToya Cantrell, said that it was a “terrorist attack”.
