Republican US President-elect Donald Trump made it clear on Monday that he intends to raise to 25% tariffs on “all” goods imported into his country from Mexico and Canada, in order to push for the flow to be eliminated. immigrants and drug trafficking.

Mr. Trump justified this decision via Truth Social by citing the massive trafficking of drugs into the US market, “especially fentanyl”, a very powerful opioid that is largely blamed for the ongoing public health crisis in his country, as well as his “broken” promises Beijing on the issue, such as that the death penalty will be imposed on traffickers of this substance or precursor components.
