“Trump will not make the final decision.”
Local media reported that U.S. President-elect Donald Trump is discussing ways to pursue direct dialogue with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.
On the 26th (local time), major foreign media reported, citing sources, that President-elect Trump’s transition team hopes to reduce the risk of armed conflict with North Korea through such diplomatic efforts.
However, these discussions have not been confirmed, and President-elect Trump is said to have not made a final decision.
Previously, President-elect Trump held a North Korea-US summit with Chairman Kim twice during the first administration, in August 2016 and February 2019.
