Trump’s choice for Treasury secretary comes from investment funds

From Mutual Funds to US Finance. Scott Bessent is the name chosen by President-elect Donald Trump for Treasury Secretary.

Scott Bessent has made a career as an investor and will now take on a key role in the new North American Administration.

The next Treasury Secretary will have influence on economic, regulatory and international affairs.

One of Scott Bessent’s missions will be the issue of tariffs on Chinese and European imports, one of Donald Trump’s campaign banners.

“I am delighted to nominate Scott Bessent to serve as the 79th Secretary of the Treasury of the United States,” Trump announced in a statement released on the Truth Social network.

“Scott is widely respected as one of the world’s leading international investors and geopolitical and economic strategists”, praised the President-elect.

In a recent op-ed published in The Wall Street Journal, Bessent argued for fiscal reform and greater deregulation, particularly to encourage more bank lending and energy production.

The future head of the US Treasury argues that the positive reaction of markets to Donald Trump’s victory in the November 5 elections means that investor expectations involve “greater economic growth, lower volatility and inflation, and a revitalized economy for all Americans ”.
