Trump’s official presidential photo looks remarkably like the one from prison

Donald Trump today released his official photo as the 47th president of the United States, which bears a striking resemblance to his photo taken two years ago in a Georgia prison.

With the head slightly bent forward, the right eyebrow furrowed, the lips tightly closed and in a sullen manner. The official photo appears to be a copy-paste of the one taken for police records on August 24, 2023, when he was charged with attempting to tamper with the 2020 election results in the State of Georgia.

With a slight difference: In the police file photo, Trump wears a red tie, in the official one, electric blue. His blue jacket also features an American flag pin.

A year and a half ago, the Republican billionaire, who will be sworn in as president on January 20, posted his mugshot as a defendant on the X platform, with the message “Never surrender!”.

Trump used this photo of himself to his advantage in a provocative style, repeatedly repeating that he is the victim of a “witch hunt”. He used it on t-shirts, caps, cups…everywhere during his election campaign. The t-shirt with the word “Wanted” (Wanted) excited his fans who still wear it today, skyrocketing the sales of the items related to him.

The official photo’s caption reads succinctly: “In four days, Donald Trump will be sworn in as the 47th President of the United States.”
