Taiwanese tech giant specializing in the creation of microchips, TSMC, has suspended supplies to China to one of its partners, Sophgo. TSMC believes that the company could resell its chips to the US-sanctioned Huawei Technologies corporation.

Such suspicions arose after a TSMC chip was discovered on one of the Huawei processors, writes Reuters citing sources. Previously, Sophgo ordered chips from a Taiwanese company that matched the chip installed on Huawei’s Ascend 910B.
Sophgo denies the accusations and says it strictly adheres to “all laws and has never had any business relations with Huawei.” The company will soon provide TSMC with a detailed report on the ongoing investigation, which will provide evidence of the company’s innocence.
