Turkey’s natural gas imports increased in August

According to the report published by the Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EMRA), natural gas imports, which were 3 billion 681.35 million Sm3 in August last year, increased to 3 billion 892.53 million Sm3 in the same month this year.

384.73 million Sm3 of the import was carried out as LNG, and 3 billion 507.8 million Sm3 was carried out with pipe gas. The share of LNG was 9.88 percent and the share of pipe gas was 90.12 percent.

While natural gas production increased by 417.6 percent to 217.80 million Sm3, exports increased by 324.88 percent to 189.76 million Sm3.

Turkey’s natural gas consumption decreased by 3.61% and reached 3 billion 383.62 million Sm3. In the same month last year, consumption was at the level of 3 billion 510.34 million Sm3.

Thus, as of the end of August, stocks decreased by 17.71% to 4 billion 327.06 million Sm3. At the end of August last year, stocks were at the level of 5 billion 258.32 million Sm3.
