Two arrests for trafficking in the center of Athens

The Anti-Trafficking Team of the Patrol Sub-Directorate of the Athens Police Directorate, arrested on his own, in the morning hours of Friday 22-11-2024, in the area of ​​Byron, a 53-year-old citizen who was carrying out commercial activity of olive oil in an outdoor area, without possessing the legal license to sell and the necessary purchase documents.

The 53-year-old had parked his vehicle in a spot near an open-air market, where there was movement of people, and had configured it appropriately for buying and selling.

In a check carried out inside the vehicle, 48 containers were found and confiscated, containing 240 liters of olive oil of questionable quality.

Afterwards, he was taken to the Byron Police Station, where a case file was filed against him for violation of the legislation regarding food trading.

Also, the above amounts of oil were seized and sent to the General Chemistry for examination.

Furthermore, an administrative fine of 2,000 euros was imposed on him.

In the context of ongoing patrols by the above service, a 44-year-old foreigner was also arrested, on his own initiative, in the afternoon hours of Sunday 24-11-2024, who was caught selling a number of counterfeit products in an outdoor area, without having a relevant permit.

The 44-year-old was spotted by police officers of the Patrol Sub-Directorate, in an outdoor area in the Petraloni area, having for sale a number of products, which were found to be counterfeit products.

A total of 216 pairs of shoes and 61 bags were confiscated, while the accused was taken to the Acropolis Security Department, which was subjected to preliminary investigation.
