TWO BIRCH MEMORIES OF MILICA AND ANITA: Pupils and teachers of the Agricultural School in Futog symbolically left a mark in memory

STUDENTS and teachers of the Agricultural School in Futog planted two birch trees today as a memory of the students who are no longer with them.

– Today we gathered in memory of our two students – Anita Detelin who died suddenly in April this year and Milica Adamović who tragically died two weeks ago. The loss of two young lives was hard on us as teachers and their classmates, and although we will never forget them, we wanted to leave a mark in our memory in a symbolic way, by planting two brfeze trees in the school yard – they wrote on the school’s Facebook page.

As they further state, they planted birch trees because even the old Slavs believed that they were a symbol of purity and light, and if they are planted near the home, they protect the home and are considered a member of the family, just as Anita and Milica were part of their school family.

– In this way, we wanted to provide solidarity and support to the families of all 14 victims of the tragedy in Novi Sad, among whom was our own Milica, and stop the activities for a symbolic 14 minutes. Class teacher Anita Detelin, teacher Branislav Jovanović and class teacher Milice Adamović, teacher Zoran Gojkoviž with the students planted two birch trees so that we will never forget them. May eternal glory and thanks be to them – it is written on the Facebook page of the Agricultural School in Futog.
