Two former players of Stella admitted that you don’t often see this, referring to the controversial penalty phase in Slobozia – FCSB 2-2.
The FCSB champion got a single point away from the newly promoted Unirea Slobozia, scoring the second goal after a controversial phase.
The phase of the controversial penalty in Slobozia – FCSB 2-2 made two former footballers of Stella give a clear verdict
The FCSB champion has a hesitant start to the season domestically. After drawing 1-1 with U Cluj in the first stage, at the Steaua Stadium, Gigi Becali’s team he did the same with the newly promoted Unirea Sloboziathe game taking place in Clinceni.
The 54th minute brought the most controversial phase of the game. The visitors’ captain, Darius Olaru, was tackled outside the box but fell in the hosts’ penalty area. The central gave the penalty, after consulting the VAR system, the same player bringing the score to 2-1 for FCSB.
“I think it’s quite a strange phase. To give a penalty in this phase… you don’t often see that. That aside, it seems out of the box to me. He enters it, but from here to the penalty, it seems a bit much to me. Plus it seems to me that he is outside”, said Barasab Panduru, former player at Steaua, currently an analyst at Great sports.
The referee from Slobozia – FCSB 2-2 was promoted to the Superliga squad this summer
Marius Baciu, who played 140 matches for Steaua between 1996 and 2002, winning six trophies with the red-blue team, including three championship titles, was even more categorical. “I wasn’t fouling at all!”, reacted the former defender.
Present in the studio, journalist Cosmin Băleanu had a similar point of view, being convinced, at the same time, that if center referee Vlad Baban, promoted this summer to the team for the Super League, had not given a penalty, no one from FCSB would would have reproached him for something.
“The ball is in play, but rather it’s not a penalty. It was not seen on the broadcast, there was only one replay, those in the VAR room, as far as I know, have the same images. If nothing was given, we were talking about nothing. I don’t know if someone from FCSB would have protested that they were not given a penalty”, Cosmin Băleanu explained to Prima Sport.
