Two groups of worshipers clashed during Friday prayers at the capital’s Baitul Mukarram mosque. It is reported that this clash took place between the former khatib Ruhul Amin of the National Mosque and the supporters of the current khatibs. It is said that some worshipers were injured.

The clash took place inside the gate of the mosque on Friday (September 20) at noon. Police are currently deployed at the scene.

It is known that Ruhul Amin, the Khatib of Baitul Mukarram, who was on the run after the student uprising, came to the mosque to offer Friday prayers. Later, when the worshipers did not want to pray behind him, the worshipers and the former khatib’s supporters got into a clash. At this time, the inside of the mosque was vandalized. Doors and windows were broken. Several people were injured.

Under the circumstances, Khatib Mufti Ruhul Amin left the mosque without offering prayers.

An eyewitness said that such an incident in a holy place like a mosque is disgraceful. Khatib Sahib could have solved the problem by sitting through the appropriate authorities.

Meanwhile, the army members quickly came to Baitul Mukarram Mosque after receiving the news of such incident. Besides, a large number of policemen were already stationed in Baitul Mukarram area. Besides, hundreds of policemen have been deployed at Paltan junction.
