Two teenage girls died after falling into water while boating in Kushtia

Two teenage girls died in the water while boating in Kushtia Islami University police station area. The incident took place on Thursday evening at a place called Chapaigachi Bill under the university police station.

The deceased girls are – Anamika, daughter of Golam Mandal and Nazmeem, daughter of Naik Mandal of Chapaigachi village.

According to Kushtia Fire Service sources, in the afternoon, three girlfriends went to Chapaigachi Bill Namasthan from home to go for a walk. There they went on a boat trip. The boat sinks when it goes between the bills. A girlfriend swam to the shore but Anamika and Nazneen drowned.

After that the locals quickly informed the Kushtia Fire Service personnel who reached the spot and conducted the rescue operation. After searching for two hours, the fire service personnel recovered the bodies of Anamika and Nazmeem.

Kushtia Fire Service Officer Khorshed Alam confirmed this. He said, ‘In the evening, after receiving information about the disappearance of two girls, they went to the spot and recovered their bodies after two hours. The bodies have been handed over to the two families.’
