Typography in the Digital Age – Everything You Need to Know About Modern Design with Elliot Jay Stocks

Join a two-day typographic design module led by expert Elliot Jay Stocks, who will introduce you to modern approaches and techniques for creating attractive and functional typography through practical examples and tools.

Elliot Jay Stocks, one of today’s typographic role models and creative director of Adobe Fonts and Google educator, is coming to Croatia to give communication experts an education called How to Master Typography November 20 and 21. This two-day module is designed for all designers and enthusiasts who want to improve typographic design skills, and as part of the education of the new HOWTOWOW MODULE season, it provides insight into modern typography techniques that are key to successful digital design.

The new edition of these marketing educations provides a unique opportunity to learn directly from an expert who built his career on design for digital platforms and improving typography during years of work with prestigious companies. Stocks will reveal to attendees tricks and tips for the best selection and combination of fonts, enabling them to get the most out of each design and create effective and legible visuals. Special attention will be paid to the space between letters (so-called kerning) and the optimization of that distance for different platforms and devices, including the ever-present dark mode.

This module will display how to design typography that adapts to various mediafrom digital devices to print, providing the perfect balance between aesthetics and functionality. Combining fonts efficiently is often a challenge even for experienced designersbut with the advice of Elliot Jay Stocks, participants will gain confidence in their choice and understand the influence of different typographic styles on the tone and communicative power of the design.

Participants will have the opportunity to work in applications like Figma and Adobe Suiteto become familiar with advanced tools for shaping letters and spaces, as well as the application of optical sizes. Practical exercises will allow participants to apply the acquired skills immediately, which ensures better acquisition of knowledge and faster adaptation to real projects.

At the end of the module, participants will receive a HOWtoWOW certificate, which confirms their participation and advanced knowledge of typographic design, and regardless of whether you are a beginner or already an experienced designer, this module will help you improve your typographic skills and take your projects to the next level.
