U.S. mortgage rates jumped to nearly 7 percent

US mortgage interest rates are rising for the fourth week in a row and are approaching the 7% level. The rise in interest rates follows fresh economic data showing the strength of the economy, Yahoo Finance reported.

The average 30-year mortgage rate this week was 6.93%, according to Freddie Mac, a company that helps middle-income Americans buy homes. A week earlier it was 6.91%.

In America, mortgage interest rates are approaching 7%, which is the highest since the 2007 crisis, according to Bloomberg.

U.S. mortgage rates continued their downward trend, with the average 30-year fixed rate at 6.46 percent, up from 6.49 percent last week, Freddie Mac said in a statement Thursday.
