On the 25th (local time), the U.S. media Axios reported this, citing a high-ranking U.S. official.

“I think an agreement has been reached,” the official said. “We expect the Israeli Security Cabinet to approve this agreement on Tuesday (26th).”

However, uncertainty remains regarding the conclusion of ceasefire negotiations. “We are at the goal line, but we have not crossed it yet,” he said, adding, “We need approval from the Israeli cabinet, and until then something could go wrong.”

In addition to this official’s remarks, the media reported that four U.S. and Israeli officials said that negotiations were nearing completion.

The ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hezbollah aims for both sides to cease hostilities for 60 days, thereby laying the foundation for a lasting ceasefire. It is reported that the activities of a U.S.-led surveillance committee that monitors the implementation status and violations of both sides are also included.

Meanwhile, CNN reported that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu approved in principle a ceasefire with Hezbollah. However, the media reported that the Israeli government is concerned about some of the ceasefire proposals and that negotiations are expected to be finally concluded only when other issues are resolved.
