At the beginning of the month, the European Football Union (Uefa) reduced the maximum ticket prices for away tickets in all three men’s European club competitions. With this decision, UEFA wanted to make European football more affordable and affordable for all fans. The decision seemed necessary to them.

“The prices of the simplest categories of tickets, as well as food in the stadium, have risen to alarming heights. Now we hope that the caps will help to bring football closer to the people again,” fans wrote.

From the point of view of the German fans’ organization Unsere Kurve, UEFA’s decision to reduce the maximum prices of away tickets for European matches was absolutely necessary.

Uefa has decided that from the 2024/25 season, the maximum ticket prices for away fans will be €60 in the Champions League, €40 in the Europa League and €20 in the Conference League. In the 2025/26 season, the amount will be further reduced to a maximum price of 50 euros in the Champions League, 35 in the Europa League and 20 in the Conference League, according to the website of the umbrella European organization.

Fans welcome UEFA’s decision, while Unsere Kurve adds: “If we took the fans’ concerns seriously, we would also reduce the number of matches and abolish the video referee.”
