Aside from the differences in size and weight, both external batteries have a very similar design. Instead of the classic flat design, Ugreen has opted for a brick-type design that I personally like, perhaps because it is different from the conventional. The quality of materials and finishes are of a good level, with a metallic finish on the plastics used. Anodized gray goes well with everything, especially Apple devices. Both batteries have screens in the front areabut they are different. While the small one is a black and white screen with translucent glass and only gives us numerical information about the remaining battery, the larger one has a full color screen with live information on the charging status (later we will analyze it in more detail). detail). On the side we have a single button that serves to reset the battery or to interact with the screen that can offer us different types of information. The battery base is black with rubber feet to prevent it from sliding, and we can find the technical specifications of the model there.

Both batteries They have 13 protection systems: temperature, voltage, overload, power, current, short circuit and interruption. They are compatible with Apple’s fast charging systems, including both iPhone and Mac, but also with other brands such as Samsung, LG, Huawei, Redmi, Steam Deck… They are batteries for all our devices, it doesn’t matter if they support low or high power, because the battery will manage at all times what output power it should offer depending on the device you have connected to it. Even the power offered will vary depending on time, being higher when the battery is more discharged and lower when it approaches its maximum charge. Furthermore, depending on the port we use, the power it offers us will be different:

• USB-C 1: input port to recharge the battery itself with power up to 65W. Output port with powers of up to 100W Power Delivery.
• USB-C 2 (130W model only) 30W output port.
• USB-A: 22.5W output.

The output powers may vary if we use two or more ports simultaneously. Thus, if we use the three ports of the 130W battery at the same time, the maximum powers will be 100W +15W. These powers will also be the maximum, because depending on the device we connect the output power will be different, and not only that, depending on the load moment the output power will also vary. These Ugreen batteries are compatible with the most advanced charging protocols, such as Power Delivery 3.0. With these modern chargers there is no problem with you using a 100W charger to recharge your Apple Watch or your AirPods, they will not “fry” because you use a higher power charger, because the device and the charger establish the output power it needs, and also in a variable way over time.

In the video I use cables with which you know the power that is reaching your device at all times. With the 20,000mAh 130W battery you don’t even need that if you want to know what power output is coming out in real time. By pressing the side button you can change the information on the screen showing a detailed graph of the volts and amperes of each port. This information may not be very useful for most users, I personally do not understand anything about voltage and amperage, but for the most demanding users, they would surely like to be able to know all those details. The screen of the other smaller battery only gives us information about the remaining charge it has, in addition to some funny graphics that appear randomly when pressing the side button.
