Annual inflation in the UK stood at 2% in June.
The British Office for National Statistics has announced inflation figures for June.
Accordingly, annual inflation in the country was 2 percent in June and remained unchanged compared to May.
Core inflation, excluding energy and food prices, was calculated at 3.5 percent annually in June. Core inflation was at this level in May.
Service sector inflation also came in at 5.7 percent on an annual basis in June.
ONS Chief Economist Grant Fitzner, in his assessment of the data, said that inflation remained unchanged in June, adding, “While hotel prices rose strongly, second-hand car prices fell. Clothing prices also fell due to discounts, and price increases were balanced. We also saw a decrease in raw material and product prices in June.”
