At the meeting held at the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Transportation Coordination Center, it was decided to establish a commission regarding the Shared Travel Regulation.
The sub-commission meeting of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Transportation Coordination Center (UKOME) was held. The issue of Shared Travel Regulation was brought to the agenda for the first time, and after receiving written opinions from all state institutions, it was decided to establish a regulation commission and put it to a vote for approval.
“TAXI DRIVERS WALKING ON US”
Following the UKOME Sub-Commission meeting where transportation regulations were discussed in Istanbul, Martı Founder Oğuz Alper Öktem made a statement. Öktem, who said that taxi drivers suddenly attacked them during the meeting, said, “The taxi drivers suddenly stood up and said ‘we are leaving’. They tried to attack us while they were leaving.” Öktem, who referred to taxi drivers as ‘license plate lords’, used the expressions “let your regiment come”.
“WE SAID WE WOULD WIN, WE ARE WINNING”
Öktem said, “UKOME is writing to all relevant ministries and state institutions to get their opinions. Afterwards, a commission will be established for the Shared Travel Regulation, work will be done in this commission and then UKOME will come to vote. We said we would win, we are winning. Istanbul is with us.”
Öktem, who thanked the Transportation Department, underlined that he expected support from the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality. Öktem said, “We expect support because we know we will win. We are a huge family of 178 thousand people. This means 178 thousand pots. It is happening all over the world, it will happen in Turkey too, it cannot be prevented.”
