Ukraine has received very bad news: one of its main donors will drastically reduce aid next year

While the largest economy of the European Union allocates 8 million euros to Ukraine this year as military aid, next year this amount will be only 4 million euros – writes a Reuters based on the German budget draft he saw.

Germany hopes that Ukraine will be able to cover most of its military needs with a $50 billion loan agreed by the G7, which will come from frozen Russian assets.

Washington has called for the loans to be provided to Ukraine in an “advance” form, so that it receives a large amount now, fearing that with Trump’s return, aid to Ukraine could be drastically reduced.

So far, Berlin has provided significant military support to Ukraine, for example handing over three Patriot air defense systems (this leaves it with nine).

Germany in 2025 at the same time wants to reach 2 percent of defense spending in proportion to GDPwhich represents an item of 75.3 billion euros in the German budget.
