Drymy cold wavewith strong north winds and snow storms will hit our country in the next few hours, coming from Ukraine.
According to meteorologists Giorgos Tsatraphyllias and Clearchos Marousakis, the Ukrainian snowstorm will hit the country from Friday (27/12) until Sunday (29/12) and except for Parnitha, the northern suburbs such as Penteli and Dionysus.

As Clearchos Marousakis explained, we are in the middle of the road in terms of bad weather. He noted that the phenomena will continue on Friday at noon with storms in the sea and coastal areas, but also a little snow in mountainous and semi-mountainous areas. Then there will be a temporary improvement, which will be followed by a new wave of bad weather, coming from Ukraine, a phenomenon that the OPEN meteorologist described as “Ukrainian snow”.
It is a polar air mass from the Black Sea that will enter the northeastern Aegean from tomorrow evening and will mainly affect areas in the Aegean and the eastern continents.

On Saturday, the snowfall will start from Eastern Macedonia – Thrace, with snow to be recognized even in lowland areas, but also in an area of the northeastern Aegean.
In Attica, snowfall is expected from altitudes of 500-600 meters and above, in areas such as Krioneri, Dionysos and Drosia. Locally, the phenomena are accompanied with great intensity, while snow storms are not excluded.
The region of Evia also needs great attention, as well as in the Eastern Peloponnese, where snow is expected even in the lowlands. The new wave of bad weather will last until Sunday, where the phenomena will be limited to the Cyclades and Crete.

The meteorologist Yiannis Kallianos, with his post on Facebook, emphasizes that on Saturday, snowfall will occur mainly in areas located at altitudes from 450 to 600 meters and higher.
The well-known meteorologist states that the altitudes where snowfall will occur in places are:
Pelion: from 450-500 meters and higher
Rest of eastern and southern Thessaly: from 500-600 meters
Central and Eastern Continent: from 450-600 meters
Attica: from 450-500 meters (temporarily)
Evia: from 450-550 meters
Northeast Peloponnese: from 600 meters
Northeast Aegean: from 200-300 meters
Crete: from 800 meters

Specifically, Mr. Tsatraphyllias emphasizes that except for Parnitha, the snows that make their appearance are lower in areas such as Kryoneri, Dionysos and Penteli.
