(Seoul = Newsis) Reporter Gyeongnam Ahn = The group draw for the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, in which professional soccer K-League 1 Ulsan HD will participate, will be held on the 6th of next month (Korean time).
FIFA announced on the 12th that the 2025 Club World Cup draw will be held in Miami, USA, the host country of the tournament, from 3 a.m. on December 6 (1 p.m. on the 5th, local time).
The Club World Cup, which was held every year with the participation of club competition champions from six continents and the league winners of the host country, increased the number of participating teams from 7 to 32 starting next year in the United States, and changed the hosting cycle to 4 years.
This competition will be held in the United States for about a month from June 15 to July 13, 2025, local time.
The teams are divided into eight groups of four each, and after the group stage, the first and second place players from each group advance to the round of 16 and compete for the championship.
Participating teams will be determined by their continental performance from 2021 to 2024. The champions of each continent’s club competitions and the top teams in the club rankings calculated by FIFA were given the right to participate.
Currently, 31 teams out of 32 participating countries have been confirmed.
