Smart rings from not particularly well-known brands on the market have been around for a few years. However, now we have to admit that they have started to come more to the fore, acquiring more health and activity monitoring functions, thus “challenging” the dominance of smart watches. While there are a variety of premium smartwatches that offer atrial fibrillation (AFib) monitoring, Ultrahuman’s Ring Air is now the first smart ring on the market to offer FDA-approved AFib detection.
Atrial fibrillation (AFib) follows an irregular heart rhythm (also known as an arrhythmia) and can be considered an early sign of heart-related health complications. Ultrahuman’s AFib tracking feature is part of the new app PowerPlugs. It’s essentially a series of health upgrades that include a wide range of health monitoring options ranging from heart rate and menstrual cycle monitoring to jet lag. Ultrahuman’s goal is to expand its list of services to include thousands of applications in the coming years.
The Ultrahuman Ring Air is an excellent tracker with the ability to track essentials such as heart rate and blood oxygen saturation as well as sleep, stress and workouts.
