UM agencies marked Impact day

Every year, the global network of UM media agencies celebrates Impact Day, which is dedicated to some socially useful action. This year’s theme of Impact Day, entitled “ONE Day, ONE UM, ONE Better World”, is dedicated to the affirmation of equality, sustainability and well-being.

UM agencies within I&F Mediabrands, which operate in Southeast Europe, also joined the campaign. In addition to the joint socializing of the employees of the UM agencies, in cooperation with the company Beko Srbija, the UM Belgrade agency donated air conditioners to the “Children’s Village” organization in Sremska Kamenica. With the aim of making it easier and more comfortable for children in the summer heat, the employees of UM Belgrade together with their colleagues from Beko Srbija provided three air conditioners.

Branislava Cagronovgeneral director of UM Belgrade, emphasized the importance of this initiative: “We are deeply committed to supporting our local community and achieving visible changes in the lives of those in need. By donating air conditioners to the Children’s Village in Sremska Kamenica, we hope to make the already carefully designed and equipped houses, where each one is organized to represent one family, even more pleasant and comfortable, especially on these warm, summer days. This initiative reflects our core values of care and community, and we are grateful to our partner, Beko Srbija, for their support in this endeavor..“

By the way, “Children’s Village” in Sremska Kamenica is part of the large family of SOS Children’s Villages and is the first such center in Eastern Europe, opened in 1975. Founded on values such as responsibility, perseverance and, above all, dedication, SOS Children’s Villages provide a home for children without adequate parental care, nurturing relationships of trust, cooperation and unconditional acceptance.

Colleagues from UM Skopje donated clothes, shoes and toys to the most vulnerable members of their community, providing support to those who need it most. “Solidarity and support are key values that we cherish in our agency. We are proud to contribute to improving the lives of people in our community,” she said Roza Petrovskadirector of UM Skopje.

UM Sarajevo organized an awareness-raising campaign on the prevention of violence against women, drawing attention to this key problem in its local community. “A large number of unpleasant events in our country, as well as in neighboring countries, place an obligation on us to contribute to the fight against violence against women. It is a problem that requires urgent attention, and that is why we decided to make it the topic of this year’s Impact day.” stated Nermina Kelić, director of UM Sarajevo.

UM Zagreb supported Bosniaks, a village near Županja affected by the recent storms, by donating them basic necessities. They also organized a joint breakfast as a gesture of solidarity, enabling mutual connection and support. “In addition to all the problems of the east of the country – economic, demographic, social… and nature again took its toll and left the poor Slavonian village without roofs. As it usually happens, when things are most difficult, small people show solidarity, without much fanfare, so our house joined in and helped with a little, but from the heart, we are grateful that we are able to help because it is certainly easier to give than to receiveKatarina Robeli, director of UM Zagreb, pointed out.

Unlike colleagues from Belgrade, Skopje, Sarajevo and Zagreb, who focused their actions on environmental protection and support for people, UM Tirana decided to point out the problem of animal care. They built food and water stations for stray dogs, with plans to expand the campaign to nine additional locations.

Impact Day was launched in 2016 as part of the UM initiative “Bolji svet”, with the aim of inspiring employees to get involved in activities that promote care and togetherness. Impact Day this year was marked by various socially useful actions by over 3,200 employees in more than 100 UM agencies operating in over 50 countries.
