The rebirth of SsangYong into KGM (KG Mobility) opens a new era, with the arrival of new, unique models, such as this new generation of KGM Actyon.
KG Mobility has just presented the new KGM Actyon second generation, which now has nothing to do with the first opus developed by SsangYong…
A second generation of Actyon
After changing hands last year and coming under the South Korean KG Group, SsangYong is now continuing its car manufacturing activities under a new name: KGM (for “KG Mobility”). After the launch of the Torres EVX SUV, the new owner of the Korean manufacturer has great ambitions, and proves it to us with the presentation of this new KGM Actyon.
The second generation KGM Actyon follows the first opus called SsangYong Actyon : the latter still marked automotive history by being the very first SUV coupe on the marketmarketed from 2006 to 2018, two years before the more famous BMW X6. But this time, it’s over with the haphazard design of SsangYong’s productions: make way for a brand new SUV with assertive stylewhich is reminiscent of the Range Rover Velar.
The new Actyon stands out with sloping windshield pillarswhich give rise to the floating roof inclined towards the rear, offering a better feeling of fluidity.
KGM Actyon: electric and gasoline engines
The influence of the luxurious British SUV is also confirmed at the rear, with a wide black strip that extends from one end of the stern to the other, and which integrates very thin red optical blocks. The model stands out with its two optical blocks placed at the bottom, which extend on the sides with a black border, all joining the front optical blocks. For the moment, no image of the interior has been revealed.
The KGM Actyon will be marketed with a 100% electric motorizationborrowed from the Torres EVX and which develops a power of 207 horsepower (152 kW). This will be associated with a lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) battery with a capacity of 73,4 kWhsupplied by BYD. For those allergic to all-electric, the range will also include thermal versionswith a 1.5-litre petrol engine, combined with all-wheel drive.
For now, the precise launch date of this new KGM Actyon has not yet been communicated, but the new management of the South Korean brand has confirmed that it will take place before the end of year 2024.
The first deliveries of the KGM Actyon in Europe should therefore arrive by 2025.
