The Realme C61 is an elegant mobile phone with a quality feel, thanks to its back that has a “nano-texture” and feels nice in the hand, without feeling “cheap”, just like the large camera module with a glossy finish. In combination with the flat sides and the small thickness (7.8mm), it is a device reminiscent of more expensive constructions. It weighs 188 grams and the company announces tightness against IP54but he doesn’t stop there, having tested the device in a fall from a height of 1 meter onto a wooden surface, to determine its durability. No, it’s not rugged, but it will probably survive “accidents”. Ideally, of course, use it transparent silicone case that you will find in the box, especially since the device is quite “slippery”.

The screen of 6.74″ is IPS LCD, with 90Hz refresh rate and 560 nits HBM brightness, with HD+ resolution and 20:9 ratio. The notch-drop increases the screen-to-body ratio but is reduced by the large lower bezel and finally ends in 85,5%. We didn’t find the maximum brightness high enough for use in bright light, under the summer sun, but the upside is that you won’t get tired of using it at night since the brightness decreases up to… 1 nit! You can also use the screen with wet hands, something useful in many cases.

Inside the Realme C61 we find the Unisoc Tiger T612 chipset at 12nmwhich carries the Mali-G57 GPU and so it will carry out every typical task, but also light gaming, also thanks to AI boost what the device does. The 6GB RAM are expanding up to 12GB via Dynamic RAM, while the 128/256GB storage space expand through microSD and even up to 2TB extra! To the above add the fact that Realme promises “smooth” operation for several years from the start of its use, so that the device does not “stuck” after a while.

AI is also found in the camera, however, to improve his downloads 50MP main sensor, with PDAF and f/1.8 aperture. The secondary camera takes over the “depth” part and video capture is enough 1080p at 30FPS, however the 8MP selfie is limited to 720p. But it does something distinctly special: It allows them air gesturesbasic gesture control in the air that is, for accepting/rejecting calls but also the usual… scrolling on social media! Useful if you have your mobile propped up against you on the table, nightstand, desk, so you don’t touch it if it’s not convenient for you.

The sound comes from a powerful speaker and the Android 14 “covered” by Realme UI 5.0, which is lean and easy to use, albeit with a few pre-installed apps you might not need. Connectivity includes Wi-Fi ac (dual-band), BT 5.0 with A2DP and LE, NFC and Type-C 2.0 port, as well as audio jack. THE fingerprint sensor it’s inside the power button, on the side, which you can actually do schedule to open apps quickly from lock screen if you want.

For the end we left their battery 5.000mAh which offers satisfactory autonomy (up to 14-15 hours of video playback on YouTube) and the most important thing is that it is recharged in 15W, although the charger is not included in the package. In fact, the company says it can last over 1,000 charge cycles, which means 3+ years, on a daily full charge!

The Realme C61, at €169.9 at this moment (for 6/128GB, €189.9 for 6/256GB)offers high value for money in the small segment and does it with style and special features that you won’t find in all its competitors!
