Albert Heijn helps you save through the AH Koopstamps. Handy, because when you do go shopping, you put a small amount aside each time. Want to know how to set this yourself? Then read on.
Setting aside small amounts of money for a transaction
Digital saving is becoming increasingly easier. There are apps like Peakswhich puts a percentage aside for you with every transaction you make, but banking apps also have functions to set up digital piggy banks.
Perhaps you are not consciously aware of saving at all or you find it difficult to approach it properly. Albert Heijn will give you a helping hand with this through the well-known sales stamps. If you do all your shopping at Albert Heijn anyway, this is a simple way to save some money in an easy way.
If you download the Albert Heijn app on your smartphone and link your bonus card, you can start collecting digital sales stamps. For every euro you spend at Albert Heijn, you can buy a sales stamp for an extra 10 cents, both in the store and online. These will then be linked to your profile in the AH app. And so you slowly build up a digital fund.
You save with your pot for digital savings accounts. When you fill such a savings account (490 stamps), Albert Heijn will give you 6 percent interest. You will then receive 49 euros in purchase stamps and 3 euros extra. If you hand in your stamps earlier, you will simply receive 10 cents per stamp back for up to 254 stamps. If you hand in 255 to 489 stamps, you will receive 10 cents per stamp and an additional 0.50 cents interest on the total amount.
Pay out purchase stamps via the store
Do you have (several) savings accounts full and would you like to have them paid out? This can be done in different ways. The first option is to have the saved money transferred back to your account. For this you have to visit the store at the service desk. The employee will scan your profile and transfer the money to you.
You can also use the savings accounts to get a discount on your next groceries. To do this, go to the self-checkout at your Albert Heijn and scan all your groceries. Make sure that this is more than the 52 euros that the savings account is worth. Then open the app, go to ‘Buy stamps’, click on ‘Payout stamps’ and scan the QR code at the cash register. Your saved stamps will now be deducted from the amount.
Set up savings stamps
Do you think it is a shame or too expensive to pay 10 cents extra for every euro you spend on groceries? Then you can also easily stop collecting purchase stamps via the app. Go to the menu with the purchase stamps in the AH app and press the three dots at the top right of the screen.
Here you will see the options ‘Pause purchasing stamps’ and ‘Stop purchasing stamps’. Click on it and you no longer pay for sales stamps at Albert Heijn. This way you decide whether or not you want to use this handy savings function.
