Unlicensed driver causes fatal accident near St. Petersburg

The man died in a crash and injured two other people.

In the Leningrad Region, two people were injured due to the fault of a driver who, without a license, got behind the wheel. The driver himself died.

A fatal accident was recorded last Friday evening, September 20, in the Podporozhsky district, on the 45th km of the A-215 Lodeynoye Pole – Vytegra – Prokshino – Plesetsk – Brin – Navolok highway, the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation for St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region reported. The 47-year-old man, who was driving a Renault Logan, at some point lost control and drove off the road into a ditch. As a result, the car overturned.

The driver died at the scene of the accident, his two passengers were taken to hospital in a moderate condition. During the investigation, the police found out that the driver did not have a license.

Earlier it was reported that four drivers with fake licenses were caught in St. Petersburg.
