Turnout drops in Liguria

In the last survey at 11pm turnout collapses in Liguria. After remaining a few points lower than that of 2020 throughout the day of Sunday 27 October, the figure sinks to a distance of 5%.

The definitive data is from 34,7% of those entitled to vote by the closing of the polls for the first day of voting. At the same time in 2020, 39.8% had been reached.

The cards of the regional elections in Liguria

They mainly rule the provinces of Genova e La Spezia while the provinces of Savona e Imperia, even if the capitals recorded a better result, respectively 35.5% and 32.1% of those entitled to vote.

Bad weather influences elections

The wave of bad weather which affected the entire Liguria region over the weekend.

The authorities were also forced to move the polling locations of some municipalities because the buildings that had been chosen to host them were exposed to the effects of the storms that hit the region.

The centre-left candidate Andrea Orlando he thanked, leaving the polling station where he voted, he expressed gratitude towards the rescuers who intervened to make the elections possible even in these conditions.

When you vote on Monday

At 11pm on Sunday 27th the polling stations for the regional elections in Liguria closed for the day, but citizens will be able to continue to cast their votes in the first part of Monday October 28.

The polls will remain open from 7am to 3pmwhen they will be definitively closed and counting will begin, which should conclude in the evening with the official announcement of the winner.

On Monday, especially in the morning, the bad weather should provide respite, although more are expected during the night intense thunderstorms. This could encourage an increase in turnout, thus avoiding a new negative record.
