Amrul UP Chairman and Upazila Awami League member Saiful Islam Biman (55) has been arrested by the police for killing Forkan in Shajahanpur upazila of Bogra. He was arrested from Demazani area of the upazila around 5:30 pm on Monday.
The arrested Saiful Islam was a resident of Biman upazila Demazani village and a member of upazila Awami League. Before this, he was the vice-president of Amrul Union Awami League for a long time.
Shajahanpur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Wadud Alam said Saiful Islam Biman is the 69th accused in the Shajahanpur Youth Dal leader Forkan murder case.
It should be noted that on February 22, 2021, a youth leader named Forkan (36) was hacked and injured in Shajahanpur upazila of Bogra. He died the next day while undergoing treatment at Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital. Forkan was a resident of the area adjacent to Fultala Primary School in Shajahanpur Upazila.
There were five cases against the deceased Forkan, including two murders, two extortion cases.
