Two-time elected chairman of Koyarbil Union Parishad of Chakaria upazila of Cox’s Bazar, Makki Iqbal Hossain has been arrested by the police.
Also, several other people were arrested by conducting raids at several places. The arrested are the leaders and workers of Awami and allied organizations.
According to the police, Chairman of Koyarbil Union Parishad and Upazila Jubo League leader Makki Iqbal Hossain was arrested from his area on Sunday afternoon. In addition, Matamuhuri Upazila Awami League leader Iqbal Darveshi was cut off from the dervish, Khutakhali Union Awami League Forest-Environment Secretary Md. Jasim Uddin, Awami League worker of ward number four of Chakaria municipality. Belal was arrested from his own area.
In this regard, the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Chakaria Police Station Manjur Quader Bhuya said that the next legal action will be taken after investigating the crime committed against the detained UP Chairman Makki Iqbal Hossain.
