Despite the fact that the Hyundai Ioniq 6 is only two years old, Hyundai has been working behind the scenes on a facelifted version of the model for some time now. The lower and more stretched alternative to the Ioniq 5 is getting a major makeover on the Korean cutting tables. The changes are relatively drastic. For example, the lighting and the front bonnet are being completely overhauled. The current headlights have to make way for lighting spread over two floors. At the top of the front, against the new and extended front bonnet, there is a thin strip of LED daytime running lights, and the actual headlights are being placed one floor below. The facelift will undoubtedly also include a number of important technical adjustments, but also the introduction of a spectacular version: the Ioniq 6 N. Indeed: just like the Ioniq 5, the Ioniq 6 will soon also have an extremely powerful N version. It is of course no surprise that a Hyundai Ioniq 6 N is in the pipeline. Even before the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N came onto the market, Hyundai already showed an N-like Ioniq 6 with the RN22e, which actually confirmed the arrival of such a sporty top version. We have also already shown you a wrapped prototype of the Ioniq 6 N. That was clearly a copy with the old nose. In these spy photos you see the Hyundai Ioniq 6 N for the first time in its final form, complete with sturdy, different bumpers all around, a huge rear wing and large light metal with extra powerful brakes behind it. Thanks to two electric motors, the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N is 609 hp strong in the base. In the base, indeed. In Boost mode, that system power temporarily increases to no less than 650 hp. Thanks to that power, the Ioniq 5 N stomps from a standstill to a speed of 100 km/h in just 3.4 seconds. We expect similar values and performance for the Hyundai Ioniq 6 N. The introduction of the Ioniq 6 N will more or less coincide with that of the renewed regular Ioniq 6. For example, we expect new battery packs that should bring a greater range and – in combination with the largest pack – a higher charging capacity to the electric Hyundai.
