When startup Get ready began his journey, his team had the ambition to revolutionize health care in the urban environment. Their innovative face mask, which integrates smart technologies to monitor air quality and health metrics, was just an idea. Today, after seven months of intensive mentoring in the UpSteer innovation program, they are one step closer to seeing their product transform the market and help improve the health of millions of people. Their solution brings comfort and safety for athletes, but also for vulnerable groups of the population. “UpSteer helped us get a comprehensive business plan and moved us forward,” Dominik Kadlubiak, leader of the Appara startup, evaluated the program. “We now go into business with a clear idea – whether financial or technological. If it weren’t for Assec, it would definitely take us much longer.”

Promising projects were rewarded

Appara is one of the four startups that successfully graduated from the second year of the business incubator UpSteer, to which companies from Slovakia and the Czech Republic applied this year as well. Projects that successfully completed the program received not only certificates of completion, new skills or a large network of professional contacts, but also, for example, an exclusive ticket to world conferences within the Expandi 4.0 program, which also includes travel expenses.

“These are promising projects, behind which talented young entrepreneurs stand. We believe that our program provided them with the necessary mentoring and coaching, and the acquired know-how will help them overcome challenges and continue their development,” said Jozef Klein, CEO of Asseco Central Europe, stating that the expert jury was guided not only by their business potential when selecting startups, but also emphasized social responsibility and contribution to the community.

Smart solutions that save costs

Among the four companies that graduated from the UpSteer program is Daitable. It has developed an advanced energy management system that uses artificial intelligence to optimize energy consumption in industrial operations. “Participating in UpSteer allowed us not only to develop the product, but also to make contacts that open up new opportunities for us,” says Šimon Staňo, CEO of Daitable.

The startup was equally successful Nordics.iowhich provides intelligent solutions for managing external IT projects. Their platform, which uses AI to optimize planning and team selection, helps clients save up to 20% on costs. “UpSteer showed us how to steer our company in the right direction and connected us with both market experts and new talent,” says Lukáš Rezanina from Nordics.io.

Another successful young company Wiolp in turn, it offers clients a global platform that connects financial institutions with potential heirs. It helps them look for unclaimed money in lost bank accounts or forgotten financial products. “UpSteer has helped us improve our services and communication with regulatory or financial institutions,” adds Helen Raphanides from the startup Wiolp.

The third year is coming soon

All enterprising visionaries will be able to apply for the third year of the UpSteer program at the beginning of next year. Asseco will once again offer meaningful ideas the chance to transform into viable projects.
